I went to a nearby CrossFit gym and did one session for $32 (drop in rate for CrossFit Hollywood) just to try it out. CrossFit is a fitness program focused on helping you achieve measurable results through lifestyle changes, training and nutrition. The workouts are a mix of high-intensity, functional movements. After one session, I was completely exhausted. But it was fun and would definitely try it again soon.

The CrossFit membership options vary. Below are the rates from Boulder CrossFit in Colorado:
Unlimited $201/ MO
The Unlimited plan includes unlimited classes each month, access to all open gym hours, one free monthly yoga class, and one free monthly 20-minute accountability meeting.
Fire/Military/Police/Student $181/ MO
This package you get to attend as many classes as you want every month, and you can drop by the gym whenever it’s open. Plus, you’ll get a free yoga session once a month to stretch and unwind. You’ll also have a quick 20-minute accountability meeting each month to stay on track with your goals.
1 INDIVIDUAL/DROP IN CLASSES $25
For individual or drop-in classes, you can purchase access to a single class session.
ONE WEEK INDIVIDUAL/DROP IN CLASSES $75
You can opt for a one-week unlimited drop-in package, granting you access to unlimited classes for the duration of one week.
10 INDIVIDUAL/DROP IN CLASSES $125
With the 10 Class Punchpass, you can attend 10 classes at your convenience within six months from the date of purchase.
5 INDIVIDUAL/DROP IN CLASSES $91
The 5 Class Punchpass allows you to attend 5 classes within a six-month period from the date of purchase.
3 HRS PERSONAL TRAINING $150
The personal training package offers a free 15-minute consultation followed by private one-on-one coaching sessions, nutrition counseling, and guidance for achieving your fitness goals.
24/7 ACCESS TO GYM $40
This extra fee monthly add-on is available to those who have an existing “unlimited membership.” With this add-on, you gain access to the gym 24/7 every day of the year, with the exception of Monday to Friday from 5pm to 6pm and Saturdays from 9am to 10:15am.
3X/WEEK $40
The 3X/Week package offers access to 3 classes per week or 12 classes per month, along with access to all open gym hours. You’ll also receive a free monthly yoga class and a free monthly 20-minute accountability meeting
2X/WEEK $161
The 2X/Week package provides access to 2 classes per week or 8 classes per month, as well as access to all open gym hours. Additionally, you’ll receive a free monthly corepower yoga class and a free monthly 20-minute accountability meeting.

Some CrossFit gyms have cheaper monthly rates especially if you can commit to 1 year membership. For example, at SkipJack CrossFit in Maryland, the monthly rate is only $119 per month if you pay for the entire year in full. CrossFit in St. Louis MO is only $180 every 4 weeks for unlimited membership with open little gym access.
Can I cancel my membership with CrossFit?
You can temporarily pause your membership with a 7-day notice, and you’re allowed to do this twice a year. If you wish to cancel your membership, you’ll need to provide a 30-day notice, with no exceptions.
What payment methods are available?
Different CrossFit gyms may accept varying payment methods, but generally, the following options are commonly used across the board. Payment options via our online store include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay (in Safari), and Google Pay (in Chrome).
Are there fitness classes available at CrossFit?

Dropped in for a class while in DC on vacation. Super easy to sign up for a class. Coach was fantastic and the other members were welcoming. It is a little more expensive for a drop in than I’m used to ($25) but I’m also not accustomed to big city prices. I will definitely drop in again when back in DC.

If you had told me a few years ago that I would become a CrossFit enthusiast, I would have thought you were crazy.
I started out at another gym in the area and switched to CrossFit DC about a year and a half ago. I was recovering from an injury at the time and started out with personal training sessions (shoutout to Noor, the toughest and best trainer out there) and then went on to the standard classes. I was pretty intimidated at first because I’m not particularly strong or skilled, but the CFDC programming and coaching is so fantastic that I quickly became addicted. The community itself is also amazing. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, it’s a very different experience from any other gym I’ve been to.
Another great part of CFDC is how good they are at scaling the workouts. I genuinely think that anyone can do it; it’s not nearly as intimidating as it seems. Highly recommend anyone looking for a challenging and fun workout give CFDC a shot!
Is the CrossFit Membership Cost Worth It?
By now, everyone has probably heard of CrossFit. This training program is best suited for those who are fully committed to improving their health and fitness. It requires discipline, perseverance and endurance. If this is you, then the $150 to $250 per month rate is definitely worth it once you see the transformation within yourself.
