During my visit to Philly, a friend of mine brought me along to Newtown Athletic Club to workout. On the way there he told me his membership costs $184 per month and gives him access to all the club’s facilities like the gym, swimming pools, sauna and group classes. I figured Newtown Athletic Club is probably a high end fitness club with all the bells and whistles. But when we arrived, I was amazed. Members can enjoy unlimited access to Newtown Athletic Club’s elite facilities and amenities, including a 12,000 sq. ft. fitness center filled with natural light, and boutique studio classes such as yoga, reformer Pilates, Six Zone personal training, cycling, barre, and dance sweat.
They also offer complimentary childcare. The outdoor resort area features an adult pool and hot tub (21+), three family pools, 35-ft water slides, a lazy river, splash pad, private cabanas, playground, and basketball court.
Their spa locker rooms include steam rooms, saunas, and complimentary towel service. They have a full-service restaurant and bar with outdoor live music on Fridays during the summer and weekday happy hours.

Can I cancel my membership with Newtown Athletic Club?
To cancel your membership, you must complete the cancellation form by the 15th of the month in which you wish to terminate your membership. If the notice is submitted after the 15th, the cancellation and final payment will occur on the 1st of the following month. This policy has no exceptions.
To terminate your agreement before the end of the period, you must provide proof of a move more than 25 miles away or a medical reason that prevents you from using the club. Membership terminations will not be backdated for any reason.

Worth the price. Lots of different classes for kids and adults. Constant improvements and upgrades being made- which is great. Employees are generally pretty friendly. The outdoor pools are unbeatable in the summer- it’s like a resort.

Kind of crazy that this place only has a 3-star rating. This is by far the nicest gym not only in the area but one of the top facilities in the country. Then add the Pool, restaurant, and bar area which makes it even a better place. After reading most of the 1-star reviews you will see they actually have nothing to do with the club, just people with different political beliefs or who read a BS magazine article. We have been members for a long time and will continue to be members as long as we are in the area.

I’ve been to several gyms over the years, but this is the only one in the US that I’ve actually looked forward to going to. They really know how to find ways to motivate members and this gym seems to do all it can to improve the quality of the experience for their members.
I’ve seen a lot of reviews on here lately from people that I doubt are even members, coming on with the sole purpose of political divide. It’s nonsense.
This gym is friendly, accepting to all, and a pleasure to go to. It’s the only gym I’ve been to where I’ve yet to encounter true snobs or obnoxious jocks, and I’ve been a member for over a year. Granted, I haven’t been looking for a them.
The price is a bit high, but it’s easy to see where that money is going as they are constantly investing in the improvement of the place. Well worth joining if you’re looking for serious fitness.

The NAC is the Rolex standard of all gymnasiums ! Over the last half a decade or so the NAC has pushed its limits and grew to a size and stature that no one could have predicted. They’ve expanded most of their original departments and have even taken the liberty to build an entire outdoor water park ! There is nothing you won’t find at this highly specialized athletic club and you will certainly be surprised to see how much more they have to offer !!
Is the Newtown Athletic Club Membership Cost Worth It?
Membership at Newtown Athletic Club is expensive, no doubt, but IMHO it’s worth it. It’s an all-in-one fitness and wellness center with great instructors, modern facilities, sophisticated machines and equipment and lots of activities for the whole family.
