In 2022, I had to temporarily relocate to NYC for work. It was just for 8 weeks as I needed to help set up our business ops there. The place I rented was just two blocks from New York Sports Club on Astoria Avenue in Queens so I signed up for a one month membership which cost me only $50. Not bad for all the good stuff this fitness club has to offer. If you want to know more about the New York Sports Club membership cost, benefits and amenities, this post is for you.

Let me start by saying I hadn’t stepped foot in a gym in years. Now, I get antsy if I am not there atleast 3-4 times a week. When you sign up for this club, you get a fitness orientation with a trainer. I had mine with Chris. I immediately signed up for personal training with him once a week, wishing I could do more. Over the 3 months I did personal training with Chris, he helped me transform myself into a more conditioned, toned, disciplined person. Chris is extremely good at listening to your goals and modifying any exercises to meet your needs. He helped me strengthen my knees and wrists, allowing me to do so many more exercises I never thought I could. Chris has helped me realize I can do anything.
Also, I highly recommend taking the small group training classes. The unlimited package is a really good deal and are led by Chris and Khalil (another amazing trainer). They both have really great teaching styles and keep you motivated and moving the entire 50 minutes.

Good sized space with a variety of equipment across two floors plus some amenities. You get what you pay for though, and while NYSC is cheap, it lacks basic services such as hot water (LOL cold showers!), towels and the machines seem to break down often. Staff is always working to keep the space clean, but all it takes is a couple of bad clients to mess it up.
Good availability early mornings, midday and late night during the week. Avoid afternoons when it’s packed though. Wouldn’t mind if the weekend hours were extended either.
Is New York Sports Club Worth the Membership Price?
The New York Sports Club membership cost ranges from $40 to $50 per month for a single club access. All club access is $80 to $90 per month. It’s a decent gym with everything you could possibly need to workout plus a bit of extras like sauna, pool and parking in some locations. I think for big cities like New York and Boston, this club’s membership cost is very reasonable.
