I was in New Orleans for a brief trip, and don't like skipping workouts for more than a few days, so I bought a day pass for here. I understand the objection of other reviewers to the $30 cost of a day pass, and if I was just looking for some cardio equipment, that would not have been worth it for me. But I spent 90+ minutes on their impressive variety of weight lifting machines and equipment, in a fantastic historic space with a cool vibe. I was there on a Saturday morning ~9-11am, and it wasn't too crowded, but if there had been 20% more people it would have started to feel that way.
My only suggestions: the coffee bar looked really cool, but was closed and the hours seem very limited. The back room on the second floor with the squat racks was absurdly hot (and this was in March; without AC, I can't imagine what it's like in the summer). And while the total variety of machines is impressive, I did not understand the logic in their arrangement throughout the facility. I found myself crisscrossing the facility to 6 different spaces just for a robust but not particularly strange weight lifting program. But those were all minor gripes. If I lived in the French Quarter, I would happily belong here and probably visit it daily.
