We started going to the YMCA based on a recommendation; my son was playing basketball elsewhere, and we wanted him to be able to participate in more competitive games. From the moment we joined for our first season at the YMCA, we were incredibly well-received. We felt truly welcomedand, speaking personally, despite not being fluent in English at the time, Stilyan and all the coaches my son has had were always very attentive and eager to help me understand how everything worked. This really makes a huge difference. My goal with the basketball training was for my son to feel like part of the team, to feel more confident, to interact with boys his own age so he could make friends, and, of course, to engage in physical activity to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We are very happy to be part of the YMCA familybecause that is exactly how we feel when we are there. If you are looking for a safe environment for players, with coaches who strive to bring out the best in the team, you have come to the right place. The coaches are there to help the players become the very best they can be.
