I would never send my child to this daycare center. About a year ago, I was in a custody battle with the father, who I allowed to have 3 days a week, though I had full custody. During court proceedings, I found out that during those three days a week my son was with his dad, he was actually sending him to daycare at the Y. He completed the entire enrollment process without my knowledge. I called the Y and spoke with someone with whom I explained the situation and asked if I could tour the daycare center to see where my child was spending his day, how the daily operations are, etc. The person on the phone said she would be the same way and that would be fine. I headed to the Y after that conversation, and when I spoke with the people at the front desk, their entire attitude changed, and they said that no one had spoken to me. I told them I had called the number from the website, and the front desk person googled it, found that the number was listed, and connected to the Y, but not that location. I asked if I could talk to the daycare anyway and re-explain my situation. I brought identification and proof that I had full custody of my child, who had been enrolled in their daycare center without my knowledge. My attitude was concerned, but I maintained a calm demeanor, simply wanting to know how he was enrolled. Charise, the Director at the time (I am not sure if she is still with the company), called my childs father without telling me and brought him to the daycare center so we could talk about it. Her attitude was very standoffish, and I felt very uncomfortable, like I had done something wrong trying to nicely introduce myself and figure out the sitatuion. She wouldnt let me see my son or anything having to do with daycare. The following week, I removed my son from the daycare center. He moved to another center, and his vocabulary improved dramatically, as well as his potty training! I have also heard from employees at the Y that they dont take the kids outside consistently or for periods of more than 20 minutes at a time.
