SERIOUS CONCERNS REGARDING EDGE FITNESS BUSINESS PRACTICESUNAUTHORIZED USE OF FINANCIAL INFORMATIONAnyone who has provided financial information to EDGE Fitness should exercise caution. As a former member who terminated my membership in 2024after the gym moved to a less desirable location in an abandoned shopping centerI was shocked to discover that, in January 2026, EDGE Fitness made an unauthorized withdrawal from my bank account using previously provided banking information.RETENTION AND USE OF PERSONAL BANKING DATAThis incident raises significant questions about EDGE Fitness's handling of former members' personal banking information. Why does EDGE Fitness retain such sensitive data after memberships have ended, and especially more than a year after termination? Furthermore, it is concerning that these accounts remain linked to their billing system. There have been claims that this withdrawal was a one-time action by the owners to help with expenses, but such behavior is deeply troubling. I am unsure how many other former members have been affected by this unauthorized electronic withdrawal, so I strongly recommend monitoring your financial transactions closely for any unexpected charges.RESPONSE FROM EDGE FITNESS OWNERSHIPUpon discovering the charge, I immediately notified EDGE Fitness. Both Josh and Steve Tufte confirmed that they had withdrawn and were in possession of the funds. Initially, they promised to return the money without delay. However, they later informed me via email that they would not return the funds to me or my financial institution. Instead, they advised me to file a fraud report if I wished to resolve the issue. Such conduct raises serious concerns about their professionalism and commitment to ethical business practices. It is alarming to think that someone could use your banking information without your authorization, admit to the act, promise to return your money, and then make the process unnecessarily difficult for you to recover your assets.WARNING TO POTENTIAL AND CURRENT MEMBERSAnyone considering joining EDGE Fitness should be aware that their personal financial information may be retained and potentially used in the future without their consent. In such cases, it seems the responsibility to recover your money falls entirely on you. This entire episode reflects poorly on the business and its owners. If this was truly a mistake, a reputable business owner would immediately return the funds. Unfortunately, the handling of this situation has been classless, unprofessional, and appears desperate on their part. Following their suggestion, I am now pursuing other legal avenues for resolution. If any of you have experienced similar treatment by this establishment, I encourage you to hold them accountable. Unless held responsible, people of this nature will likely continue such behavior. All the best!
