Absolutely love this gym, these trainers and my experience here. My personal journey this year had me starting out at a rec center, which was fine but often unfocused and lacking true growth. Coming to this gym has absolutely changed the game for me for multiple reasons. First, I absolutely love that the workout and structure is created for me. I’m a busy mom and don’t have time to weave some workout routine magic. I love the versatility of the movements and how much I’ve learned on compound movements. Seriously that’s probably point number two. I came to this gym feeling unsure if it was.. CrossFit vibes, or cardio based, and feeling nervous that it may not be right for my strength training goals. Kyle and team are right on point with incorporating compound movements with mobility training and strengthen supporting muscles to improve said lifts. I have (for the first time in my life) become comfortable with holding a barbell on my back and loading a little weight which has begin my journey in training this foreign movement to me. The trap bar deadlift has become my absolute favorite movement this year thanks to the gym. I’ve learned to majority improve my technique for all squats, kettlebell swings, hip thrusts, shoulder and chest press, and much more.
Thirdly I adore Kyle, Megan and Jen for the time they have taken to help me individually improve. Even in large class settings I’m always welcome to ask form questions and have spotters/hype people on my side. I have laughed, cried, fallen over, moved heavy stuff and more in this gym. I adore Kyle’s dedication to community with his holiday charity workouts, involvement with other local companies and brands, and his warm welcomes with every class. Seriously if you are wondering if this style gym would be right for you, there is no other place in Utah that will give you this kind of value - from nutrition support options to form corrections to exercise alterations for injuries/postpartums/recoveries.. this is the gym for everyone. I started out here having lost 65 pounds on my own and was quite weak and needing to put on muscle. The amount of change I’ve made in body composition this year is pretty awesome if I do say so myself. It couldn’t have happened without some seriously awesome training. Also, a place to escape my hectic toddler home life. This gym isn’t just a gym, it’s a community. The Bearded Trainer experience has been one of the best highlights of my year.
