Rock Fitness Climbing Gym

This review is only for the climbing. Been climbing at RF for over a month, a few times per week. Overall, I would say this is a decent gym to go to if you have no other rock gyms available or if you have kids that like a wide variety of activities I am from Salt Lake and am using that as my basis for rock climbing gyms. This gym is more of a fun zone gym hybrid as there is a basketball court, jungle gym, regular gym, and a rock section. The monthly price for climbing is steep at $75 a month for what is available and the membership structure here feels like a franchise gym (e.g. EoS, Planet Fitness, etc) so be aware of that. Also, I don't understand how the fitness gym equipment is not free with the climbing membership - it's an additional $15. I haven't gotten my belay cert as I am teaching my wife how to climb but most of the routes that I have done are decent (only done up to an orange color). Not sure when it's decided to set routes but they do happen. I am a strong proponent for having free belay classes/cert regardless of membership status as it increases safety but you'll have to pay if you are not a member. My biggest complaint with this gym is that is it doesn't feel like a rock climbing gym due to the amount of kids running around. It's dirty. Too many teens fooling around trying to impress each other. Groupon like activities occurring that distract me. No AC in the building so it's already feels like a sauna and there are not enough good fans to increase air flow. Half the staff is friendly, the other staff usually gives me a cold shoulder but I do except that as climbing gyms usually have uppity staff. I do except my gyms to be closer to Mesa Rim in terms of quality and ambience but for now I have to stick with RF due to it's closeness to my house. This gym is THE BEST. Adam the owner cares so much about the environment and creating a safe space for everyone. He’s a great teacher and it obviously comes from the heart. The staff is very welcoming, and make you feel right at home. Thanks so much guys!

We’re a homeschool family with two kids who absolutely love Rock Fitness Climbing Gym! They take climbing and PE classes there, and it’s been such a fantastic experience. The classes are fun and engaging, and Coach Brandon and Coach Joy genuinely care about the kids and they are funny! More importantly , they go over safety rules at the beginning of every class. My kids often say it feels like their second home. Plus, I now go to their fitness classes and yoga sessions, which makes it great for the whole family to go to the same place. The kids also love the childcare and the wonderful teachers there.
