Recreation Center: Memberships, Fees, Classes, and Facilities

The experience changes when you go, usally it's fine. The equipment is dirty, you might jump on a gross feeling machine. It's only once in a blue moon that you'll actually see any staff cleaning anything at all. Even though for most of the year they are usually over staffed and doing nothing. When the staff is board, they will watch you on the cameras and judge you behind the desk. Most of the staff is nice, some are stuck up. The place can be over crowded, waiting to use a machine, especially in the evenings. Parking can be another problem if you go during classes. Its an uncomfortable gym with a bad layout. The music that plays across the gym is hit or miss, sometimes it's really annoying rap or girly music. Many rules. Had police called, since apparently you can't wear pants while walking around track in the winter between classes. Free for students, not worth paying for. There are better gyms around.

Went to college at GVSU. Always have loved to work out at the rec center. It's a clean, well kept facility. There is lots to do at the rec center.
