I really wanted to like this Planet Fitness location because most of the staff are actually friendly. Unfortunately, one employee, a middle-aged, short guy with glasses who seems like some kind of manager, completely ruins the experience every time I come in.In what I can only assume is an attempt to push people to transfer memberships and increase numbers at this location, this guy goes out of his way to make things uncomfortable. No hi, no hello, no welcome in. I scan in like Im supposed to, and immediately get stopped at the front desk like Ive done something wrong.His tone is always short, cold, and borderline accusatory. He consistently makes me feel like Im trying to get over on the gym, as if Im stealing services, even though I pay my membership every single month like everyone else.For example, he watched me come out of the massage area and then made me re-authenticate, even though he was the one who sent me back there to check another machine. Thats not customer service, thats unnecessary policing.Today was the breaking point. He told me that because Ive used this location more than 10 times in a month, I now have to transfer my membership here or pay 5 a visit for the rest of the mont. I thought he was joking with me, but he was serious!? The way he communicated it was dismissive and inhospitable, like I was doing something wrong just by showing up.A gym should feel welcoming and motivating. This place feels tense and uncomfortable. It actually makes me dread coming here, which is the exact opposite of what a gym should do. On top of that, the parking situation is terrible.At the end of the day, all he did was make it easier for me to cancel my membership. Ill be going elsewhere, probably the YMCA or Crunch, where paying members are actually treated like they belong.If youre looking for a gym where you feel welcomed, Id strongly suggest going somewhere else. If I could give this place zero stars I would.
