I signed up for a free class, provided my credit card information, filled out a survey, and was planning on arriving 30 minutes before the scheduled class time to do a walk through. The day before the class I received a call and a text message from Joni, stating I needed to do a phone consultation (same day) or I would need to reschedule the class. Im thinking, gosh, what more information could they need? It seemed a bit excessive. Any way, I comply and call Joni back. During the call she asks how I learned about Orange Theory. I say, a friend. Next question, does the friend attend this Orange Theory. I say, a different location but he also attends this location as well. Next question, will he be joining you in class tomorrow. I say, yes. Joni then goes on to explain that per their policy I would need to be charged a 12 preferred guest fee. What? Oh, but dont worry because the fee would be waived if I signed up for a membership. So essentially the required phone call felt like a trap to get me to pay for the class. Originally I signed up for the free class independent of my friend (truly to see if it would be a space Id enjoy) who like I said, typically attends a different location. Had I known I wouldnt have been able to redeem the free class by mentioning that my friend would also attend, well then I wouldnt have said anything. So be forewarned! This policy is seriously flawed and not clearly outlined when signing up. The cancellation policy and the requirement to attend 30 minutes prior to class were however clearly outlined and understood from the get go. Back to the phone call, I ask for clarification on the policy and Joni repeats herself verbatim not offering any additional information or clarification. Repeating verbatim what I was asking for clarification on is simply put, not helpful. Joni became rude and condescending in her tone after pointing this out to her, sarcastically telling me to have a nice day! after I told her to cancel the class and delete my information. She was clearly perturbed, unhelpful, and unprofessional. To make matters worse, my friend also has a terrible experience talking with Joni today as he independently called and asked for clarification regarding the policies in question. After taking a rude tone with him, she refuses to give him her name upon request and hangs up the phone on him. Again, what??? My friend then escalates the situation to upper management. I get an email (multiple back and forth) from Amy who defends their flawed policies, as well as Jonis unprofessional behavior. Oh and the kicker! She offers absolutely no apology for my experience.I would absolutely not recommend this location. The staff are rude, unapologetic, unprofessional and do not have customers best interests in mind.
