I’ve been a paying member at this gym for years, and the condition of the facility has become completely unacceptable. At this point, I feel obligated to warn others because there are real health and safety concerns that management seems to be ignoring.
For context, I’ve been a member of gyms in eight different states, including several big-name chains, and this is by far the worst condition I’ve ever seen a major gym in. It’s shocking that a brand with this kind of name recognition is allowing a location to deteriorate like this.
There are constantly multiple machines tagged out for service, and some of them stay that way for weeks or even longer. Right now three stair climbers have been out of order for over a month, and about half of the TVs on the treadmills don’t work. During busy hours it’s difficult to find equipment that actually functions, forcing members to crowd around the few working machines. Beyond being frustrating, this raises safety concerns when equipment isn’t properly maintained or repaired in a timely manner.
The locker rooms and showers are honestly disgusting. For a place where people sweat all day and hygiene should be a priority, the lack of cleanliness is alarming. Poor sanitation in shared spaces like this is not just unpleasant — it’s a legitimate health concern.
Even more unbelievable is the fact that the water dispenser has been broken and management refuses to fix it, meaning members often don’t have reliable access to drinking water during workouts. For a gym, that’s basic health and safety. Proper hydration during exercise shouldn’t be optional.
What’s most frustrating is the lack of accountability from management. Instead of addressing the obvious problems with maintenance, cleanliness, and safety, the new manager seems more interested in enforcing minor rules. I was recently kicked out of the training area because apparently there’s a “new sheriff in town.” Maybe focus on making sure members have safe equipment, clean bathrooms, and access to water before trying to flex authority over trivial things.
It’s also interesting that the gym found the budget to build a fancy new Pilates room, but longtime members who have been paying for years can’t even count on working treadmills or properly maintained equipment.
At this point, the facility is dirty, poorly managed, and clearly neglected. Broken machines, unsanitary locker rooms, and no reliable drinking water create a real health and safety risk for members. If management isn’t going to address these issues, people considering joining should be aware of the conditions before signing up.
Members deserve far better than this.
