Our situation is not as unique as I thought it was. It seems to be the same story as everyone that decides to leave the Cheer Supreme / Iamcharde program. The investment that is put into cheer as a whole is not a small one, so you would think that your money and time would be valued here, but it’s not. The list runs deep from this current year and last. As I couldn’t take it any longer, I left mid season. The amount of money we spent up until now is at a loss, but I feel at peace with the decision.
I am an athlete mom that doesn’t say much. I sit back and observe. I don’t voice my opinion too much. Until this year, I was pulled out of my comfort zone, and I spoke up. Since the first time I spoke up, it has gone downhill since. Chardes’s policies and the way she thinks is totally off(one sided to benefit her and her ONLY) She does not care about those children nor the parents that pay their hard-earned money. She cares only about her image. For instance, during our showcase, she implemented a $150 fee that would be applied to any athlete’s account that did not sell 10 $30 tickets to our showcase. We sold 9 beforehand, not realizing the 10th person didn’t show until the show had started. My phone died. When it turned back on at the end of the showcase, I sent the gym a Cash App for the last ticket so I wouldn’t be charged. She refunded the Cash App and still charged me a fee. During the showcase, they sold merchandise, so I purchased my daughter a large jacket/pants. Once we got home, I had her try them on and realized they were too small, so the next day, I requested if they could be exchanged for the extra large. I was told no, I couldn’t exchange it, but I could purchase the extra large.
Further in the season when our uniforms arrive, Charde previously measured her, she said varsity responded and said my daughter was an adult large. The uniform came and swallowed her. I can understand sizing can be off sometimes, but that was a huge difference. I requested a swap; she responded and said I couldn’t exchange but I could pay another $400 for the smaller size she has at the studio. The uniforms aren’t custom; they’re generic sizes S/M/L.
Our latest encounter happened over this weekend. Our girls performed at Jamfest in Indy. Day one, we came in last place, and 30 seconds before going on stage day 2, Charde sends out a message telling the parents that we won’t be staying for awards due to us being in 10th place on day one. We haven’t even performed for day two yet; all of us parents were distraught. Our moods were thrown off seconds before going out there to cheer for our babies. After the performance, we had to break the news to our girls that they won’t be going to awards.
It’s very nitpicky and petty on her end from all the stories that have happened over this season. I can’t put every story in here, but I’ve tried to set the tone to show just a few things that have happened. I was really on the fence about leaving, but the last straw was when I came to the studio to retrieve my daughter’s medal from Jamfest. Charde and her team refused to give me the medal when I arrived at the studio; mind you, this was the day she said she would give them to the girls. She told me I could either wait in the parking lot for 3 hours or I can give it to another athlete and get it tomorrow. She has this power trip attitude towards women.
I have edited to add this *She has changed her response after me adding photos to fabricate the entire situation that has happened. I posted photos of 2 interactions to prove her statements were not true and she decided to edit her response from the original response because it proved she was not truthful. Since I have posted this Charde has bullied parents into texting and calling me to remove my review. When that did not work she began to completely lie in her response.
Last year 2 whole teams left mid season, that in itself should tell you what you need to know. I am not the only one.
