Currently on hold with customer support for the second time today. The wait was long the first time, so I'll use this wait time to let y'all know DO NOT TRY this gym.
We did the 7 day trial. The lady at the front desk was pleasant and helped us through the sign up. She was sure to say cancel by the 7th day. Easy! I set a reminder a day in advance, which was Sunday. I'd never thought to check if it was open on Sat or Sunday because, what gym isn't open on weekends???? And I've had memberships at quite a few over the years. Guess what, Fitness Depot Columbia is closed on Saturday and Sunday and I had to get back on the road last night. There's also NOT an option to cancel online OR within the app. Customer support is ALSO not available on the weekends. My trial ends today, MONDAY! I knew at that point where this was headed. I'm thinking customer support could help cancel. NOPE! Companies create difficulties like this because it's an easy way to charge you for a membership anyway. Money over integrity is a sickening trait.
After speaking with customer support and a completely different location representative, you must either come into the location OR send a certified letter. YES! A CERTIFIED LETTER to cancel. Certified BS! The guy from the other location said that they usually explain this before you sign up. This was not explained and she KNEW we were not from around there.
Also the gym is basic and not worth the cost, especially for that area and gym hours. Another relative did the 3 day trial at downtown gym, in the same town, and NEVER had to put in a card number. He literally tried it, loved it and was NOT put through the added stress Fitness depot has caused.
UPDATE: I sent the certified letter and received the cancellation less than a week of them receiving it. Thank you
