Douglass Community Rec Center

The newest Douglass Activity Center is a 21,000 sq facility with a high-school regulation basketball court or two cross courts or two NCAA-size volleyball courts or two pickleball courts, plus a community room, a fitness room, and an elevated three-lane walking track. The facility boasts well-maintained basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts, along with an indoor walking track and a variety of fitness classes designed to cater to diverse interests and fitness levels. Built in the 1940s, the Douglass Community Center originally served as a United Service Organization for WWII soldiers. Its presence continues to be essential for Black students at KSU and soldiers stationed at Fort Riley, but it has evolved over the years to encompass education, recreation, fellowship, and kinship for all members of the community.
