Dauntless Academy | Exeter CrossFit

Recently joined this gym as a local Exeter resident. Great vibe! Folks are friendly and welcoming. The trainers actively work to help me improve my technique. Highly recommend for anyone interested in CrossFit.

Two years ago I started training on my own in my basement for a Spartan Race. I started off out of shape, but after a few months found my groove. However, I started to plateau, was bored, and felt like I needed a new challenge to up my training. I had been curious about CrossFit for a while, so decided to look into local gyms, and found Dauntless. I'm so happy I did. I didn't know that at age 45 (and after having 3 kids) I could feel like I did at 35 again. After being a dauntless member for about a year and a half, I now feel strong, capable, a part of a community, and excited about what I will accomplish this year. The coaches are amazing, not only leading you through each workout with their extensive knowledge and positivity, but making sure you have the proper form in order to avoid injury. Before CrossFit, I didn't think I was the "group workout" type person, but I've discovered I do actually enjoy group workouts. They help me stay focused and push myself more. And its great to be part of a friendly and supportive community. I've always wanted to build muscle, but as a women felt like I didn't belong around the weights with all the guys. Here at Dauntless, being a strong woman with muscles is celebrated. I feel I've found "my people". As for the Spartan Race, I crushed it (and had fun doing so)! Big thanks to Dauntless for providing a place I can be myself and where I can continue to achieve hard things!
