Fine place if you are someone who blocks everything else out while working out and you only care about what equipment is available. Does not have good community vibes otherwise- it feels very elitist. My partner and I go here because they have certain machines we like. Weve never felt a community or welcoming vibe like we did when going to VASA downtown, but dont care too much because were here to work out and just listen to music anyways. Weve been coming here 3-4 times a week for 6 months- come in, scan your app, work out- weve never really had any staff interactions before. Until randomly, we go in a few hours later than normal and the staff starts shouting after us as were walking away from scanning our apps that we need to finish setting up our membership. They spoke to us very condescendingly while the other customers around stared, wondering what was going on to elicit that. We were treated and talked down to as if we were children that did something wrong. They took pictures (that Im sure looked terrible because we were confused and not aware we would be taking pictures) with a little computer webcam. Now, Im sure they are supposed to have pictures with the memberships, so Im not mad that they were doing their job if thats what needs to be done. But is this place really so poorly run that the *first* time weve ever heard of this need was after weve been coming to this gym regularly for 6 months? It really shook us up because of the way we were treated during that interaction. There are so many ways that this could have been better handled, including explaining the need for pictures on our profiles. On top of the distasteful staff interaction, my partner has been trying to downgrade their membership from the higher tier to the base tier for a few months now and has not received any responses via emails or any way to do such. They obviously want to make it as difficult as possible. We will be talking to staff directly about that next time we go in, especially with the bad taste in our mouths after today.
