Let’s start with this: the gym gets extremely crowded if you arrive after 3 PM. That’s not the gym’s fault, but how they handle it is questionable.
1. They are super pushy when it comes to getting you to sign up for a trainer. When I had my kickstart session with PJ, I told him many times that I didn’t want a trainer and couldn’t afford one since I had just started a new job. He kept pushing, and I eventually gave in and signed up.
2. After training with him, everything went downhill. I brought a friend in once, and he mentioned that she was cute. He said he would give me a free month if I brought her in. Well, I did—but he got her number, and I never received my free month.
3. Because there are so many members, the machines are either always in use or broken. Also, for over two months now, the hot water in the showers hasn’t worked. You’re paying all this money, but there’s no hot water.
4. I also asked them to send my account to collections. They want to keep charging me even after I explained that I had a very complex surgery and won’t be in the gym for a while due to recovery. I understand it’s their policy and that there may be nothing they can do, but I would rather deal with collections than continue paying for training I don’t need. To be honest, I am behind on payments since I was out of work for a couple of weeks, so I don’t think it’s worth catching up and continuing to pay when I’m not satisfied.
5. One time, I was in the women’s locker room when my water bottle fell, broke, and leaked everywhere. I immediately let the staff know, but no one came to help. Two women with memberships ended up helping me instead. After asking staff again for help 15 minutes later, they (I kid you not) just brought a mop and left it outside the bathroom without saying anything or coming in to assist. Also, this gym only has three spray bottles available to clean the stations.
To end, if you go to this gym as a female, I would be cautious. There have been many times when men have approached not only me, but also my friends—and not just members, but staff as well.
