I wanted to share my positive experience back from the middle of 2023, albeit a bit delayed. I was traveling through the area for work for the week and was allowed the opportunity to do a trial week between both this recently opened 9 Rounds - Alexandria at the time; and, their continuing Springfield location. Now, I am not new to the brand, as our gym near my area in NJ had closed during the pandemic which is very missed for the great people, experience, and workout. Now, back to Alexandria, that I'll share that this 9 Rounds definitely both is and feels wider, larger, and more spacious than their Springfield counterpart and my previous NJ location. I believe this is also related to their square format and larger windows on the workout side. At the time that I was there, they recently had their grand opening, and everything had that brand new feel. I came for a single-day along with two of my friends for a trial-day, whereas we went in the early morning prior to work. And, at the time was guided through the patience, knowledge, professionalism, and friendliness of the trainer at the time Marcus; and, with LeeAnn who joined us later. Marcus meticulously gave my friends and I an assessment to make sure he and 9 Rounds knew our goals and a plan so that we could astutely meet them. And then, we were given their in-house boxing gloves to utilize; which, I felt had great padding and excellent weight to help us in our sweat. And, we were shared about a bell that can be hit to exclaim your success when you had a good workout, which we all hit.About the workout:Within 9 Rounds workouts you can start at almost any time interval while they are open, which takes about 30 minutes. And, you wouldn't felt like you missed a beat as opposed to workouts where you must come at a certain hour. The workouts are guided by screens and the trainers. Usually, 1 to 2 people start each round at a time. And, even if not within the same round, you and any friend could always be next to each other, but just one-round apart. You have different stations that usually relate in some way to boxing and/or general strengthening exercises. There are certain timed workout intermissions; and, opportunities for 1:1 training with the mitts. Throughout, you feel like the challenging exercise passes by in a flash. You're able to use their gloves when you do not own your own. And, they also have a heart rate tracking system, which can display on the screens to track yourself, and wear on your person. My two friends used it during this trial day. A quick share of info for those who hadn't tried before, but those who wear exercise tracking watches like Fitbit, Google, etc., aren't really able to wear them during any boxing-related workouts, because of the gloves you wear; and, how easy of chance for damaging your watch. People have shared good experiences with me with their tracking system. And, I believe if you want, you could buy your own that would quickly register you in their system, to make coming and going even easier.Anything else helpful:Their restroom felt very spacious; and, there is an area for your things as you quickly go-in and go. I interacted with their co-owner there at the time LeeAnn, who was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable. I don't know if this has changed, but it was street parking at the time. I didn't have any problems when I came there early in that morning in the middle of the week with ample spaces, but I am not as familiar to other times of the day. I know they're in a nice area. Definitely give them a try if you were considering it. I think you'd find it fits a lot of flexible schedules, and you can get a great workout while you're there, have a bit of a good time while doing it, and then move-on with your day feeling better than when you first walked in. Thanks!
