It's a very fun trail. Especially if you like single track cross country

Wow! This carolina walking trail was a little over 10 mile walk around the whole Lake whelchel and the boating area. The trail accurately starts half of a mile from the parking lot. The trail takes you through wooden areas with a big glimpse of the lake throughout it. We did see a lot of different types of birds and a pack of turtles on the trail. There was only one bench along the trail. So, I highly recommend you have some energy, good shoes and wear a hat. Also, use the bathroom before you come. I did not see any restroom at all. This was a nice long walk that you would be proud of or biking. We did see ppl fishing in their boats too.
